About the PheoPara Alliance

Edward Kauffman
DO, Chair
PheoPara Alliance

Welcome to the PheoPara Alliance website.

The Alliance website is a resource that will help both patients and physicians cut through the maze of information related to neuroendocrine diseases so they can make informed decisions for the treatment of pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma, with information about some of the key research available from the world’s leading experts. The site will also link to a number of resources including pheochromocytoma.org. In the future, the site will also serve as a virtual support group for patients and their families, providing information and encouragement.

The Alliance is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization that was formed by a diversified board including healthcare professionals, trustees from a major university, a defense contractor, a federal prosecutor, parents and family members of patients with the disease, and concerned individuals. The Board shares a passion for unlocking the secrets of this rare and terrible disease and for raising consciousness among the medical community and the public concerning this dangerous condition.

Leading the Alliance is Dr. Edward Kauffman, a family physician for more than 40 years. He himself has been diagnosed and is being treated for metastatic pheochromocytoma.
